John called me today, he had ordered a John Suhr preamp for his fender jazz 5. Shortly before, John and I had replaced the stock maple neck of his MIA Jazz Deluxe 5 with a Warmoth Maple/Pau fretless neckI did the whole alignment, neck pocket drilling, and he also brought a fender deco to put on..( thats not very good bro!) and i give the deco a clear lacquer spray which is a pretty successful job, the neck do look like the stock neck.
Tonight I installed the pre. wow, it sounds big. widely opened up the sound and the mid is very define and solid.
In return, john give me the old stock fender pre.. may be i should put it in my coming fretless 4. but i am thinking about the emg set or Ken smith.
